KARL MAYER showcases its technology leadership at its 80th anniversary
KARL MAYER, the world leader and trendsetter in the field of warp knitting, warp preparation, and technical textiles, celebrated its 80th anniversary on 6 July 2017 with a workshop at the company headquarters in Obertshausen, Germany, and a gala event at the island of Eltville Aue.
Presenting a modern company to a global audience
KARL MAYER organised a number of celebrations to mark the occasion and demonstrated its capabilities and latest product innovations through in-house innovation shows at various locations of the company.
The celebrations brought together more than 750 customers from over 50 countries including India. During a guided tour, they were shown the completely renovated component production department, a recently opened assembly hall and the modern development centre with many machines shown producing unique products.

“Digitisation is changing our world rapidly. This applies to both how we work and live,” explained the CFO, Dr Helmut Preßl. “Sustainability and the efficient use of resources also present huge challenges to the textile machine sector. KARL MAYER is working on all of these aspects", said Dr Helmut Preßl to the assembled guests.
KARL MAYER has invested extensively in improving the competitiveness of its high-tech locations in Germany, Italy, and Japan. A total of € 60 million has been invested in new plant, modernising the production facilities, and new IT systems.
“The product innovations which, in many cases, we have developed in cooperation with you, our business partners, have been a decisive factor in our success over the last 80 years,” said Arno Gärtner, KARL MAYER's CEO during the event.
